MUA Undressed Eyeshadow Palette: Review

I think I have an obsession forming. After trying the MUA Heaven and Earth Palette (review here) and loving it, I knew I had to venture out and pick up another one. I had been lusting over the Undressed Palette for a while, so a couple of weeks ago I went and picked it up! ...and I have fallen head over heels in love all over again - and not only with the price.

The MUA Undressed Palette consists of a variety of neutral shades: beiges, browns, greys, pinks, and even a blue-black toned shade. Most of the shadows have shimmery finishes, but they're definitely not too overwhelming in the shimmer department so don't shy away just because of this. Along with the shimmery shades, there are also a few matte finishes too! 

Overall, this palette is utterly amazing. I find that the shadows last well all day and don't crease at all. The shimmery shades are all super creamy and extremely pigmented, where as the matte shades 3 & 5 I found were a lot harder to swatch - whether this be because they are beige toned or not very pigmented I don't know. But considering that out of 12 shades only two are a tad naff, it is undoubtedly worth the £4 price tag! I know, I know. The price is always such a shocker. 

I would definitely recommend trying this eyeshadow palette out yourselves (and guilt free too, as you won't be breaking the bank!) There are so many other gorgeous palettes by MUA ranging from £4-£8, which I would also recommend having a look at!

L'oreal Colour Riche 353 Blueberry Crystal - Review

Ages ago, my mum bought herself the L'oreal Colour Riche Lipstick in Blueberry Crystal, never used it and ended up giving it to me. I was thrilled, as this was probably my 2nd lipstick I had ever owned - and I didn't have to pay a penny! 

The shade Blueberry Crystal is a rather unusual nude shade with a lot of glitter within it's formula. I'm not really a fan of glittery lipsticks and this is definitely far too overpowering in terms of the glitter. The shade is also not one to go for if you have tanned/olive skin, I do and it makes me look extremely washed out & ill. Although, on paler toned skin I have seen it looks a lot more complimentary, so I'm sure plenty of you would love this lipstick much more than I do! 

On the plus side, the texture of this lipstick is super creamy and is extremely smooth to apply to the lips, and the packaging is also very sophisticated!

This lipstick retails at £8.19 and you can buy it here. Fairly pricey for a drugstore lipstick but I wouldn't mind trying it in a different shade, as the texture and application is impressive!

Calvin Klein Delicious Luxury Creme Lipstick: Review

About a month ago, I decided it was time to place my first ever order with Fragrance Direct. After hearing so many good things about the site and seeing for myself all the bargains they have, I picked up a few items. 

Two of the items I picked up were the lovely Calvin Klein Luxury Creme Lipstick's for only £1.99 (RRP £13.50). Wow! Such a great saving I just couldn't resist. I decided to got for the shades Orange Too and Sinful; but there are so many colour choices I struggled to decide what to get!

These lipstick's have quite a thick consistency and are very pigmented. On application I found Orange Too to be a little bit more of a matte/dry texture than Sinful is, but I have not found it to actually be drying on the lips. The staying power of these lipstick's is incredible (better than most of my other lipsticks), although I do find myself re-applying on occasion, but that is the case with most darker/brighter lipsticks. 

At first glance the shade Orange Too may seem a little daring, but it's such a lovely orange/coral shade and I have worn this a lot even in the day time to sixth form as it isn't too in your face! Sinful is a lovely creamy pinky red colour and would look absolutely lovely on a night out.

These lipsticks are amazing value at only £1.99, and you get 3.5g of product which is definitely a decent amount; especially for the price! You can view the other colours here.

MUA Heaven and Earth Eyeshadow Palette: REVIEW

Months ago now, I won Libby's lovely giveaway and never found enough time to write a post about it. So now after trying out the items for a number of months, I thought I'd write reviews on the items instead, starting with the MUA Heaven and Earth eyeshadow palette :)

My favourite item I received in the giveaway has got to be MUA's Heaven and Earth eyeshadow palette! It features 12 gorgeous neutral shades, which are my favourite kind of eyeshadow shades! They are all shimmery shades; but don't let this put you off, it's not a crazy amount of shimmer, so you can still obtain a natural look! In fact, you can create so many gorgeous looks with this palette, and for just £4 - you'd be crazy not to give it a go.

The eyeshadows are contained in a plastic palette, along with a double ended sponge applicator brush; although I personally apply it with either my fingers or one of my own brushes. All of the shades are extremely pigmented and the formula is so soft and silky which makes blending a lot easier! Even the lightest shades are amazingly pigmented, which is shocking for a palette as cheap as this one is. The only downside I can think of is that there can be a little bit of fall out while applying, but this can be avoided if you take a little bit of care whilst applying and don't go too mad!

I'm dying to pick up the MUA Undress Me Too palette after trying this one - but I can never find it anywhere!

SLEEK POUT POLISH IN ELECTRO PEACH: REVIEW

As you may all be aware, during my trip to Milton Keynes a few weeks ago I managed to finally get hold of some Sleek products. I fancied trying out one of their lip products, and after reading various reviews, I opted for one of their pout polishes, and I am not disappointed. 

After some extremely hard decision making, I chose to get the colour 946 Electro Peach. I was a bit nervous in trying this colour as the shade looks very bright and almost neon coloured. But fear not! You can easily control how intense the colour looks on your lips - so don't turn away! This lip conditioner is a lovely orangey-coral colour when on the lips. With a small amount applied you will have only a slight coral tint, but I like to layer it up most of the time to create a highly pigmented, bold colour! I wasn't expecting it to be capable of giving such colour to your lips, so I was pleasantly surprised. An extra bonus is that it contains SPF 15, so it is super protective and nourishing to your lips.

But it doesn't stop there! This lip conditioner has a lovely texture and is slightly creamy, so it isn't uncomfortable to wear in the slightest. It isn't as sticky as most lip balms/lip glosses are so your hair won't be getting stuck to your lips in the wind quite so much - I know how annoying that can be!

But, one of my favourite things about this product has got to be the scent. It has a lovely vanilla scent to it which you can originally smell when it's first on the lips but it disappears soon after. I wouldn't say it has a taste to it personally, but I've read some complain about it's taste... so I'm not quite sure what they're on about.

My only dislike with this product is that it is not very long-lasting throughout the day. I find myself reapplying fairly regularly, although the colour doesn't get completely lost, for me it leaves a drab stain on my lips which I'm not too keen on. But despite this, I still love it and have found myself wearing it nearly every day since buying it, and for £4.49, what is there to complain about?!

 

Finally there are some rather pout-y pictures of me wearing the lip conditioner on my lips. I don't think my camera captures it too well but you can still see the colour.

So if you love a highly pigmented lip conditioner, this is a must for you. I haven't tried any of the other colours in the Sleek Pout Polish range, but I definitely plan to :) You can purchase this product here.

SLEEK FACE CONTOUR KIT AND BLUSHER REVIEW

Hello everyone! Just over a week ago, me and my boyfriend went to Milton Keynes to do a little bit of shopping! When I saw that the superdrug there sold Sleek products, I knew I had to buy a few bits as I've heard so much about them within the beauty sphere. I knew their blushers are super raved about - seemingly by everyone - so I picked up the shade 'Flushed' for only £4.49! 

The first thing that stood out to me with this blush was how pigmented the colour looks! The shade is a deep berry shade with a little bit of shimmer (which doesn't show once applied), and it's beautiful. Others may shy away from how deeply pigmented it looks but you shouldn't - it gives such a lovely, natural, rosy-cheeked look. The best thing is, as it is so pigmented you only need a little bit on your brush (don't be too heavy handed, especially with lighter skin tones), so you know it's going to last you a while! 

It also has such a silky, smooth formation and compared to my Natural Collection Blusher it's so soft to touch. I also found that it's super easy to blend, so you're not going to look like a clown with little red circles on your cheeks!! 

I have used this blush every day for the past week and I am so utterly in love with it, it lasts all day despite the fact that I don't use a primer. It also has no scent to it so you won't be getting a whiff of a strange smell throughout your day. It's just wonderful!

Finally, for £4.49, who can go wrong?! With such chic packaging it looks like it would be much more expensive than this.

I also bought the much raved about Sleek Face Contour Kit in the shade 'Medium' for £6.49 as my skin is fairly tanned/olive toned. The Face Contour Kit consists of a bronzer and a highlighter, with a nice sized mirror in the (very SLEEK) packaging, which is brilliant for travelling!

The product comes with two sides, a larger side with the bronzing/sculpting powder, whilst the smaller side is a lovely highlighting powder. The only problem I found with the highlighter is that it doesn't seem to show up very much on my skin tone, but it's still lovely to use as it does add a little more brightness to my face.

The texture is certainly great and easy to work with. It is easily blend-able and as it isn't too powdery, it is easy to get the right amount on the brush without getting too much on the brush and turning yourself into an oompa loompa...

It is not really a bronzer you would use all over your face for a bronzing effect, it is definitely more suited as a contour. The colour of the contour isn't orange at all either, and suits my tanned/olive skin perfectly. You do have to make sure that you don't pile on too much though, a streak of brown across your face is not a good look... 

Here I swatched the blush and the contour quite heavily to really show just how pigmented they are! My camera just wouldn't pick up the colour of the highlighter so I gave up with that. As you can see, the blush can come out very heavy so you've got to be careful with it.

Rimmel Gel Liner - Review!

I know that the Rimmel Gel Liner isn't a particularly new product on the market, but I'm sure there are some of you eager to try out your first gel liner but you're undecided! Decision made for you - gel liner is great!

Previously, I had owned and used the Collection Fast Stroke Liquid Eyeliner. It was a lovely liquid liner and easy to apply as the brush was nice and firm and not flimsy at all. Although - and I've heard other beauty guru's say this - it used to make my eyelid sting a little bit if a little too much was applied! So I decided to try out MY first gel liner.

First impressions of the Rimmel Gel Liner were brilliant, retailing at £6.49 it's a fairly good price for the long-lasting product you're getting (I still have plenty left despite using it for 4-5 months!). It gives a slightly more subtle look than a liquid liner, but you can layer it up to make it as dramatic as you want! I found it a lot easier to apply, and a lot easier to correct if I made a mistake. (Which ALWAYS happens when doing eye liner)!! I've read people saying in other reviews that it doesn't stay on all day, but I haven't experienced this with it... mine seems to stay on all day and doesn't smudge at all. It can fade a tiny bit throughout the day, but not so much that it bothers me!

The only downside to it seems to be that sometimes it can apply a little see-through so usually you have to apply a couple of layers to make it slightly more bold.

I hope this review helped some of you in your decisions! I'm yet to try different gel liners but I've also heard the maybelline gel liners are lovely! Love ya xxx

Rimmel London 1000 Kisses Lip Tint - Review

So I know this is a pretty old product, so I'm very late in writing about it but I was sitting wondering what to blog about today and I thought it would be a good opportunity for me to share my views on this product with you.

I have the Rimmel 1000 Kisses Lip Tint in the shade 'Carry on Cherry' and at first, I loved this product to bits - so much that I used to wear it every day! It looks like a little pen so is easy to carry around. On one end is the 'pen' side, with the actual lip tint product, and the other end is a moisturising lip balm, which sounds like a good combo and as stated, it sounds 'moisturising'.
So, after using this for a few days I was in love with it... it gives a very deep, bold colour deep pink/cherry pigment with a lovely matte finish (although the lip balm can make it a little shinier). But, after using it for a while I noticed that my lips began to dry out a lot and become very red, sore and cracked. Maybe the lip balm isn't so moisturising after all... or maybe I was just silly using it every day, haha - oops!
But despite this, I still continued using it, just less often and successfully made the product run out. I won't be purchasing this product again, though - purely due to the fact of how drying it was on my poor little lips! But for all of you out there who want to try it, I say go for it, as it is a good price and does give a lovely look... but just make sure you really moisturise your lips before and after use (I recommend Burt's bee's lip balms!) and maybe don't use it quite as excessively as me... ha!
