HOW MUCH IS YOUR FACE WORTH?

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation (£8.99), Sleek Face Contour Kit (£6.49), Sleek Blush in 'Flushed' (£4.49), Maybelline Colour Tattoo (£4.99), Maybelline Eyestudio in 105 'Rose Tint' (£.4.09), Rimmel Waterproof Gel Eyeliner (£6.49), Boots Natural Collection Eye Liner (£1.99), Rimmel Extra Super Lash Mascara (£4.99), Burt's Bees Lip Balm with Pomegranate Oil (£3.69), Sleek Pout Polish in 'Electro Peach' (£4.49) = A grand total of £50.70!

It's weird to think that I've spent that much on my face... not including the other items in my make up bag?! I've never been a huge fan of high end make up as I know there are cheaper options out there which do the job just as well. Imagine what the total would have been if I ONLY used high end make up. It's crazy. It alls adds up in the end, even when you're buying bargains!

Liebster Blog Award

Well, I'm rather excited as I've been nominated for the Liebster Blog Award by the gorgeous Beth at http://bethsadventuresinwonderland.blogspot.co.uk! Thank you so much :)

The Liebster Blog award is an award for bloggers who have less than 200 followers and deserve more recognition with their blog. It is a brilliant idea to help newer bloggers connect with other bloggers and help us to develop our blogs even further!

After doing some research and reading Beth's post on what the Liebster blog award is, I have gathered that these are the official rules of the award:

1. You must link back to the person who nominated you & thank them.

2. You must share 11 things about yourself.
3. You must answer the 11 questions given to you by your nominee.
4. You must choose 11 bloggers to nominate for the award (less than 200 followers on GFC) and notify them in a comment on their blog.
5. Finally, you must think of 11 questions for the bloggers you nominate to answer.

Eleven things about me:
1. I am just going in to my second year of sixth form studying Psychology, Philosophy and either English Lit or History (I don't know what to drop, help?!)
2. My skin is naturally tanned.
3. I eat way too much unhealthy food but I don't seem to put on weight... I'm just super unhealthy!
4. I love having my blog as a place to write about the things I enjoy and that make me happy.
5. I can be quite a quiet person when you first meet me, but it varies depending on the sort of person you are.
6. I worry far, far too much about things I don't even need to be anxious about, and it really upsets me.
7. I'm a bargain hunter!
8. I've been to New York on a school trip once... and it was amazing.
9. I don't own any MAC make up. ( :( )
10. I love romcoms, comedy and horror films. (Even though I'm scared of everything!)
11. Finally, the most interesting fact of the bunch... my birthday is on the 30th April (1996).

Questions for me from Beth:

1. What made you want to start a blog?
I have always enjoyed various formats of blogging, especially tumblr - I used to be addicted! But after watching Zoella, Tanya Burr & Louise (SprinkleofGlitter) and various other beauty/fashion guru's on youtube, I discovered that they began through a blog! So I thought I'd give it a go myself, as I enjoy blogging about all things fashion & beauty and I want to venture in to the world of fashion/beauty journalism!

2. What kind of posts do you most enjoy writing?
I can't even pick which posts I enjoy writing the most as I enjoy them all! That's a tough one... but I think I would really enjoy OOTD posts a lot, but I just need to invest in a better camera!

3. Do your friends and family know about your blog?
A few of my friends, my boyfriend and my mum and dad know about my blog. None of them read it though yet, I've not allowed them to, haha!

4. Where in the world would you most like to go on holiday?
This is also tough. If I was wanting a relaxing holiday probably somewhere like Greece. But if I wanted a more adventurous, busy holiday then somewhere like New York, LA or Australia.

5. What is your holy grail beauty product?
Probably blusher. It just brings so much more life into my face and if I only had one beauty product, that'd be it.

6. What is your favourite designer brand?
I'll be honest, I don't really own anything from a designer brand except for my Benefit 'They're Real' mascara... if that even counts as designer?!

7. If you had a time machine and could go back to any era, which one would you choose?
Probably the 1940's-50's, with their incredibly chic and perfect hairstyling and bold, red lips.

8. Do you have a favourite book?
I hardly read at all, despite the fact I take English Literature, but I remember reading a book once called 'Just Listen' by Sarah Dessen and I couldn't put it down!

9. What is your dream job?
To be a fashion/beauty journalist.

10. If you could marry any celebrity, who would you pick?

Aaah this is a tough one as I don't really even have a celebrity crush...

11. What is your favourite flower?
Generic, but, I do love a pretty little rose. Or tulips.

Eleven up and coming blogs that I nominate are:

9. Ellis Rose at http://elrbx.blogspot.co.uk/

My eleven questions for all of you are:

1. Why do you blog?
2. What is your favourite of all the seasons and why?
3. What is your dream job?
4. What one word best describes who you are?
5. What is something you've never done, but you would love to try?
6. What is something that many do not know about you?
7. What is your favourite childhood memory?
8. Who are your favourite youtubers?
9. Who is your biggest inspiration of all time?
10. What is your favourite make up brand?
11. What is your favourite high street fashion shop?

ANGELA & ROI HANDBAGS: DONATE BY COLOUR

A few days ago I was contacted by Angela & Roi who have an absolutely gorgeous handbag range. They aren't just pretty handbags to look at either - they have made fashion meet philanthropy. Angela & Roi are a very unique handbag range, as they donate a portion of each sale to various charities depending on the colour of the bag you purchase. Each bag comes with a detachable colour ribbon which associates itself with a certain cause, and attaching this to your bag helps raise awareness! You can click HERE for more information on their charities :)  But it doesn't stop here! Every single bag is made from vegan leather too and they cut out the middleman by using a web-based sales approach.

Not only are Angela & Roi clever in their ''donate by colour'' mission, they are also clever with their handbag design. Their aesthetic is ''vintage-inspired with a modern touch.'' and they certainly bring this through in their handbags. The bright colours combined with the vintage style looks so chic and classy... and what's better than knowing you're donating to a cause, helping to gain more awareness to a cause AND getting a gorgeous handbag?!

I highly suggest visiting Angela & Roi's website HERE for more information on their mission and to have a better look at their whole handbag range!

MINI BOOTS HAUL: MAYBELLINE 3 FOR 2

Hello everyone!

I thought I'd just do a little post about a few makeup items I bought in Boots recently as I had a little bit of money to spend. About a week ago I went to have a look in my local Boots store hoping to pick up a few more make up bits and I noticed Maybelline products were on a 3 for 2 offer and I just couldn't miss the opportunity! I managed to pick up all of these items for about £8 altogether - bargain! I'd get yourself down to a Boots store pronto before you miss out!!

I'd heard many other beauty guru's raving abut the Maybelline Color Tattoo 24HR Cream Gel Eyeshadow so my first choice was to follow the crowd and pick one up in the shade 'On and On Bronze'. It is supposedly a dupe for MAC's Paint Pot which I don't own, so I'm not sure how true of a dupe this is. My previous experiences with cream eyeshadows hadn't been too great, they would always crease like anything and the colour never lasted a whole day. But this cream eyeshadow is a complete dream! It goes on smoothly just by using your finger, is very pigmented and doesn't crease in the slightest. I was extremely impressed with it too, as it's claim of being '24HR' is a rather big claim to make, but it does actually stay on for the whole day!

This swatch doesn't really compliment quite how pigmented it is, but the shade 'On and On Bronze' is a gorgeous shimmery bronze colour and that is exactly why it caught my eye. It retails at £4.99 which isn't bad at all as a little goes a long way! I have also found it is great to wear if time isn't on your side as it doesn't take a lot to make it look good! I will 110% be picking a couple more of these up, the shades 'Eternal Pink' and 'Permanent Taupe' really catch my eye.

Finally I decided to pick up two of the Maybelline Color Show nail varnishes. I already have a few of these and they have to be some of my favourite nail varnishes I own. With just one coat you get a bold, solid colour and they don't seem to chip anywhere near as quickly as other nail varnishes I own! I got these in the shade 'Orange Attack' which is a lovely bright, deep orange/red colour, and 'Brick Shimmer' which is a lovely rose gold/bronze colour. Individually these would be £2.99 each so they're certainly worth a go :)

I would love to know what you think of these products if you have tried them before and if you have any products to recommend to me let me know :)

THINK POSITIVE: EXAM RESULTS STRESS & WORRY

Hello everyone!

I know this is completely unrelated to the topic of fashion & beauty, but I'll also be featuring a little bit of lifestyle based blog posts too.

So, recently I've been panicking myself to death about my A-level results day... which is now tomorrow - aaaahhhh! I know many of you may also be feeling the same at the moment too, or some of you worrying about your GCSE results next week (I know I was also scared as ever then as well!). But I thought I'd write just a short post on ways you can think positively and show to you that it isn't really the end of the world if you don't do quite as well as you'd hoped :)

Results aren't everything. Grades are just letters on a piece of paper. Do you really think some letters printed on a piece of paper can determine the rest of your life?! Schools/colleges lead you to think this, but really this isn't the case...

- If you're waiting for your A-level results day and you're hoping to get into the uni you've got your heart set on, yes it would be a huge disappointment for you if you don't get the grades (but don't worry - I'm sure most of you will!), but don't think that you won't be able to continue towards your future career. There are plenty of other opportunities i.e college courses, apprenticeships, and open university

- Think about half of the millionaires in the world... did they all get A* grades?! No. Real life proof that it doesn't determine the rest of your life.

- For those of you waiting for GCSE results, whatever results you get it is not in ANY WAY restricting on what you want to do when you're older. You still have plenty of time to sort things out and make it work for you :)

Don't worry about it at all! Whether you do well, or not so well, it's not determining your life as if you try hard enough independently, you can get there! Determination and motivation is key.

I guess this post is also a little comforting session for me so I don't worry my little head any more, and hopefully it may help some of you all to realise that grades aren't everything. Still try as hard as you can to do well, but if your best just isn't quite enough, don't beat yourself up over it. You'll get there in the end :) I hope this helped some of you!

FREE WITH ELLE MAGAZINE: Bumble and Bumble

Hello everyone!

So sorry I haven't posted in a while, I've been fairly busy and stressed what with results day being tomorrow - eek! But I'm back with an exciting post about the September 2013 edition of ELLE magazine and it's brilliant free gift. With this edition you get a free 50ml bottle of a Bumble and Bumble thickening hairspray worth £7.50, and it is so lovely!!

Can we all just take a moment to appreciate how stunning Katy Perry looks here?! And the tartan item she is wearing is just to die for and right on trend - I love it!

So, I didn't personally buy the magazine for myself, my boyfriend bought me it as a little surprise as he thought I'd like it... he was right. I had actually never previously heard of the 'Bumble and bumble' brand so I was ever so curious to try this hairspray product, also because it looked so different to your usual canned hairspray. Now, think of the horrid overwhelming smell of some cheap hairsprays... eeeeyuk! I was surprised upon my first use of this product, that it actually smelt quite nice!! Is that even possible for a hairspray?! Apparently so...

It instructs you to use this on wet/damp hair or to 'mist all over for a set-ready finish', and I have used it both ways. I have quite naturally thick hair anyway, so I wouldn't expect it to do that much, but I do see some thickening effect when using it while blow drying my hair. I'm 98% sure if you have fine hair you would see a brilliant thickening effect!

My 3 favourite things about this product have to be:
 1) The smell
 2) It doesn't seem to make my hair go as crusty as other hairsprays!
 3) It holds well and I find good use with it for creating texture/messy waves with my hair

This is a lovely little free gift with this months ELLE magazine and I definitely think you should go pick up a copy ASAP before it's too late!!! You won't regret it.

Chi Chi Wishlist - etailPR

Hello everyone! So etailPR are holding a competition to win £200 to spend @ Chi Chi. All you have to do is write a wishlist style post of your favourite items @ Chi Chi to be in with a chance of winning! If you're interested in participating, click HERE.

If you don't already know, Chi Chi is a London based brand of clothing and it sells a range of lovely, exclusive, day, evening, prom, and cocktail dresses! Whilst browsing the website I think I fell in love with a few too many items... so here are just a few which are on my wishlist!

Just LOOK at the colour of the dress in the centre... definitely a daring option. The electric blue and the gold together looks so stylish and bold and would be perfect to wear for an evening out! I just love how bright it is, and would definitely bring a splash of colour into your wardrobe! You can find this dress HERE for £42.99. Then the dresses either side are a lot more subtle pastel colours which are also totally gorgeous and I could see them being either dressed up or down.

You can find the embroidered dress (to the left) HERE and the lacey dress (to the right) HERE (make sure you have a look at the backs of the dresses too... the cut outs are just the perfect finishing touch to a lovely dress!

Once again, the bold and bright electric blue colour catches my eye! I have never owned a dipped hem dress before, but this one is so colourful and interesting that it's really making me want to purchase it. It looks so flattering on the model and seems to cinch you in to show off your waist! Again - a slightly daring option - but what's wrong with being a daredevil once in a while?! haha. You can find this dress HERE for £39.99 which isn't a bad price at all!

The dress to the left is one of the most gorgeous cream dresses I have seen in a while! It has a lovely lace collar with a beaded floral design, lace capped sleeves and an all-over lace effect. The design is very subtle which is what I like about it the most. You can find this HERE for only £36.99 which again is a great price for such a stunning dress!

Not forgetting the dress to the right which is also extremely gorgeous with a black lace top and a nude skater skirt. The back of the dress is what does it for me... take a look at it HERE

Let me know what you all think of the dresses over at Chi Chi!

Don't forget that you can enter too if you're part of the etailPR network (I'd recommend signing up if you haven't already!) Just click here for more info.

REVEALED: PRIMARK'S NEW A/W 2013 RANGE

As some of you may have seen, a number of items from Primark's AW13 range have been revealed all over the interwebs. I have taken a huge liking to a few of the items within their upcoming range - although Primark are raising their prices!!! But along with this the quality is also getting better and although the prices aren't so mind-blowingly cheap, they are still affordable! Here are a few of the items which I can't wait to get my hands on:

Ah, aren't these blouses just lovely?! I can just picture these teamed with some black disco pants and the black cut-out boots (pictured below)!

Oh, the coats, the coats, the coats. Everybody's winter essential and Primark sure have delivered!! The lovely oversized blazer style coat pictured to the left is a must, at £32 it is expensive for Primark, but it looks like it could have easily come from Topshop! And I may have to invest in a PU sleeved coat...

Now I heard a while ago that Primark were going to come out with some black cut out boots and here they are... and I love them! For only £20 I need to get myself a pair, and I think these are in store now. They are a much more affordable option for those who don't want to spend £45 - £75 for a pair from Topshop.

And finally, the tartan print! While browsing through the photos of the new AW13 range I noticed that tartan seemed to be a common theme. Now, I've never been a huge fan of the tartan print, and this tartan print dress feels a bit too daring for me... but the model makes it look so so lovely that I am drooling over it. AND it's only £13!

Overall, Primark's new AW13 range is quite impressive and different to their usual style. I would say it is quite grunge inspired yet has a chic edge to it as well! (There are a few pairs of beautiful heels which I haven't featured upcoming too!!)

Personally I can't wait to get my hands on some of these items and I think this autumn/winter is gonna be a big Primark haul time! Let me know what you all think of their new range :)

'NEW IN' Top Picks @ Urban Outfitters August 2013

So I was just browsing through clothing websites despite having no money *cry* and I came across these gorgeous items which are new in at Urban Outfitters! The items are all a little pricey but they really are lovely and easy to wear :)

Firstly, the shift dress is a lovely item and definitely in for this autumn season! It is 60's inspired with a lovely contrast collar and the print is so bold and absolutely stunning. In the autumn season pairing this with some thick cable knit tights or no tights at all, some chunky cut-out black boots and a black leather jacket would give it an almost grunge-y edge. It is £48.00 so a little on the pricey side but it's a lovely dress! You can find it HERE

As you may have all seen, the check print is back for this autumn winter, seen in ASOS autumn previews as well as primark and new look. The check print, again is quite a grung-y look so may not be for all of the girly-girls out there but I personally love it! These shorts are a loose fit and high waisted also, which can look totally laid back and effortless. These are pretty pricey for some shorts at £40.00, but no doubt some cheaper alternatives will be appearing in other shops! You can find these shorts HERE

I also saw this 'folksy inspired' playsuit which looks like the perfect autumn/winter playsuit in my opinion! All over it is a subtle fairisle/geometric pattern, and the little bursts of coloured patterning just give it that little bit more. It has a pretty little lace insert on the higher back and I could definitely see this being able to be dressed up or down. It just looks so light weight and aaah, I need this in my wardrobe (although there's always the toilet problem with playsuits, haha!) You can find this for £40.00 HERE

Finally, I came across this lightweight knitted jumper covered in multiple different texture patterns/knits, yet it doesn't look too busy and the colours are your perfect autumn oranges/blacks/greys. I think it's just the perfect patterned autumn jumper, suitable for most autumn days paired with some jeans and again, some chunky heeled black cut-out boots. You can find this jumper HERE for £42.00

Rimmel Gel Liner - Review!

I know that the Rimmel Gel Liner isn't a particularly new product on the market, but I'm sure there are some of you eager to try out your first gel liner but you're undecided! Decision made for you - gel liner is great!

Previously, I had owned and used the Collection Fast Stroke Liquid Eyeliner. It was a lovely liquid liner and easy to apply as the brush was nice and firm and not flimsy at all. Although - and I've heard other beauty guru's say this - it used to make my eyelid sting a little bit if a little too much was applied! So I decided to try out MY first gel liner.

First impressions of the Rimmel Gel Liner were brilliant, retailing at £6.49 it's a fairly good price for the long-lasting product you're getting (I still have plenty left despite using it for 4-5 months!). It gives a slightly more subtle look than a liquid liner, but you can layer it up to make it as dramatic as you want! I found it a lot easier to apply, and a lot easier to correct if I made a mistake. (Which ALWAYS happens when doing eye liner)!! I've read people saying in other reviews that it doesn't stay on all day, but I haven't experienced this with it... mine seems to stay on all day and doesn't smudge at all. It can fade a tiny bit throughout the day, but not so much that it bothers me!
The only downside to it seems to be that sometimes it can apply a little see-through so usually you have to apply a couple of layers to make it slightly more bold.

I hope this review helped some of you in your decisions! I'm yet to try different gel liners but I've also heard the maybelline gel liners are lovely! Love ya xxx
